    Barnes, Wisconsin, located just 20 miles from Hayward has the ambiance that people venture north to experience. The crystal clear waters of the area lakes provide visitors and residents with unmatched recreational opportunities. World class musky, walleye, pan fish and bass beckon fishing enthusiasts. Local trails and town roads provide direct access to the ATV and snowmobile trails in the Chequamegon National Forest. Pubs and supper clubs serve up great burgers, pizza and steaks and diners can choose from 10 area Friday Night Fish Fries. A picture perfect sandy beach is the highlight of the town's Tomahawk Park as well as its family friendly mountain bike trails and picnic areas. In winter the trails are groomed for classic cross country skiing.

    The local St. Paddy's Day Parade is made up of all those who come to celebrate - participants display their green side when they parade East for St. Patrick, their purple side when they parade west for St. Uro.
