About
The Hayward Foundation for Educationalal Enrichment (HFEE) was created in February 1994. HFEE is operated as a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation dedicated to providing grants to enhance and enrich the education of all students of the Hayward Area Community Schools.
A 13-person volunteer board of directors oversees an endowment of over $200,000 and collects directed gifts. One hundred percent of the earnings from the endowment and the directed gifts goes directly to the school district.
Examples of our previous endowment grants are Smart Boards, Apple iPads, innovative computer software, specialized equipment for special education students, a climbing wall for physical education, and HFEE funded a visit from NASA astronaut Jeff Williams.
The needs of the students in the district continue to grow while sources of funding from the state are decreasing. We need to increase our endowment so we can meet the needs of the future. We also need to encourage businesses and individuals to make tax-deductible gifts that can be directed to specific projects to enhance the educational experience of all students. -
