Date: January 28, 2012
Time: 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM CST
Event Description:
Basket weaving is an ancient craft practiced for thousands of years and is a traditional part of a multitude of cultures.  This craft has been passed down from mother to daughter for
generations.  Baskets are created out of a variety of materials; reed, cane, and twill and with the many sizes, shapes, and colors, have endless uses.  Basket weaving is still a viable art form, and different styles of weaving keep evolving to this day.
Instructor, Kelly King has woven baskets for numerous years and is an excellent instructor, for even a beginning basket weaver.  Once you see the beautifully, completed basket that you made, you too will say “I can’t believe I made this”.  They make excellent gifts also!
Each month there will be a different basket being offered.

January’s class isa Twill Tray basket. It measures about 10" x 6" x 4" tall and is woven using dyed and natural spokes and natural weavers and is woven in a basic 2/2 twill to create the pattern.   It has wire handles on each side that are added at the end.
This is a great basket for bread, cookies, or snacks.
