Event Description:
Joe and Mary Ellen from Field and Forest Products will give an overview of 6 mushroom varieties (besides Shiitake!) you can grow in your woodlot. They will also introduce the new Woodsource Connection, through SHII-GAW and Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association, a communication platform between woodland owners and mushroom cultivators to buy and sell wood for mushroom cultivation. Join local cultivator and wild mushroom man Tavis Lynch for his wisdom on integrating wild mushrooms with cultivated varieties from his farm; bark and twig identification for mushroom log harvest; and a sampling of wild crafted mushroom products through the local forest. Join us at the Cable Natural History Museum from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Register by November 1. Registration fee of $49 includes coffee, lunch, and snacks.
