Event Description:
Not bats! But these secretive animals are sometimes difficult to observe because they only come out at night. So how do bats get around and catch all those insects in the dark? Have you ever wondered where bats spend their time during the day? Brian Heeringa, Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest Wildlife Biologist, will discuss these questions and more. Brian will also be bringing two live big brown bats for you to have an up close look at one of Wisconsin?s resident bats. Adults are welcome, too. Meet at the Cable Natural History Museum from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Junior Naturalist Programs offer environmental education for children in grades K-6 through games, art, and outdoor exploration. The cost is $5 for members/$7 non-members per program, or $55/$80 for the series of 12 programs. Scholarships are available. Call 715-798-3890 for more information.
