The course will provide a detailed review of the ISO standard requirements and the proof that should be available to the auditor. This course includes ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 training. Target Audience: Our internal auditor course is designed to help a range of people, from ISO novices to those experienced in auditing or managing the systems.

Joe and Mary Ellen from Field and Forest Products will give an overview of 6 mushroom varieties (besides Shiitake!) you can grow in your woodlot. They will also introduce the new Woodsource Connection, through SHII-GAW and Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association, a communication platform between woodland owners and mushroom cultivators to buy and sell wood for mushroom cultivation. Join local cultivator and wild mushroom man Tavis Lynch for his wisdom on integrating wild mushrooms with cultivated varieties from his farm; bark and twig identification for mushroom log harvest; and a sampling of wild crafted mushroom products through the local forest. Join us at the Cable Natural History Museum from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Register by November 1. Registration fee of $49 includes coffee, lunch, and snacks.

Dinner Lecture: The Pollinator Problem
In the midst of a precipitous decline worldwide, insect pollinators have garnered attention in the media as scientists scramble to find answers to this unprecedented crisis. Local Ecologist Eric North will shed light on the issues causing the declines and challenges facing farmers and land managers in keeping our systems intact, and what?s happening locally and regionally to promote pollinator recovery and conservation. Meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Rookery Pub. You may also join us for dinner and conversation after the presentation. Register by November 10. $5 member/$10 non-member.

Cranberry Treasure Hunt
Join Wisconsin Master Naturalist Volunteer Brenda Maier on a cranberry treasure hunt. After a short bushwhack hike over fallen logs and through balsam thickets, you?ll arrive at the Secret Bog. Learn more about bogs and their special characteristics while searching for tart, tasty, wild fruit. Then return to the Museum to warm up, and bake some treats with your little treasures! Meet at the Museum at noon, take a short drive to the bog, and finish by 3:00 p.m. Register by November 15. $5 member/$7 non-member. $10/$14 per family maximum.

Rag Rug Workshop
Scandinavian loop weaving is a simple and durable technique that uses no thread or looms, and turns trash into treasure! Bring old bed sheets or other fabric that can be easily torn into strips, and a pair of sharp scissors. Two or three sheets will make a 2?x4? rug. Some extra materials will be on hand. The class runs from 10 a.m.-noon. Younger students are welcome with an adult helper. Previous students may attend for a refresher and fellowship while rugging. Register by November 20. $5 member/$7 non-member.

Meet the Museum?s live education raptors in person! Our birds cannot be released into the wild due to permanent injuries, but they are able to teach you all about the amazing world of raptors. Please come early to find a seat. Donations accepted.
