Laurel Canyon 1970at Big Top Chautauqua
Date: August 19, 2010
Time: 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM
Event Description
Like Paris in the '20s, Laurel Canyon was a creative scene made up of artists raising the bar for each other's work and creating a kind of musical family. The accounts are legendary: the formation of Crosby, Stills, and Nash at Joni Mitchell's house...how neighbors Glenn Frey and Jackson Browne co-created The Eagles' break-out hit "Take It Easy"... And ultimately how drugs and jealousy and free love ruined it all, but not before some of the most enduring music of all time had been created. Join our own Blue Canvas Orchestra and Singers as they put their unique stamp on some of the most beloved songs of an era by two of their favorite groups who were birthed in the Laurel Canyon musical incubator.
