Redbery Books’ fourth annual spring literature dinner this year is "Julie and Julia" themed dinner.
With her cookbook,
Mastering the Art of French Cooking, and her television show,
The French Chef, Julia
Child singlehandedly awakened America to the pleasures of good cooking. However, when she first arrived in France in 1948 with her husband, Paul, she spoke no French and didn’t know the first thing about cooking! As she dove into the French culture and began taking cooking classes, her life changed forever and is documented in her memoir,
My Life in France.
Heather Ludzak, owner and chef extraordinaire at the Brick House Café, has come up with a menu for the spring dinner that looks “tres magnifique”! Beginning with an “assortiment de pains Français”, “escargot”, and “consommé du boeuf”, followed by “Coq au Vin” as the main course, and finishing with “mousse au chocolat et Crêpes Suzette”. The dinner includes a glass of French wine. There will be complimentary door prizes and great conversation with fellow lovers of literature and European travel.
Please make your reservations right away. Space is limited and the event will surely sell out!
