Dinner Lecture: The Amazing Properties of Birch Bark with Dr. Pavel Krasutsky (Adult Naturalist Program) Northwoods explorers already know that birch bark is amazing stuff. Did you know that it is also being researched for applications such as: pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and the prevention and treatment of cancer, HIV, and other human pathogens? Dr. Pavel Krasutsky is director of the Chemical Extractives Program at the Natural Resources Research Institute in Duluth, MN. He will share amazing discoveries from 15 years of birch bark research. Join us at 5:30 p.m. at the Rookery Pub. You may also join us for dinner and conversation after the presentation.
